Heart of the North Tourism Group
The ‘Heart of the North’ Tourism Group wishes to thank our state representatives for taking the time to meet with us and learn more about our ‘Neck’ of the Woods that we consider PARADISE! Many others not from Northwest Wisconsin clearly agree, as we are thrilled to welcome thousands of visitors year ‘round to enjoy our abundance of attractions and quality of life. Lakes, woods, trails, outdoor recreation, and our small-town hospitality are among the reasons that tourists keep coming back, and in turn, spur our local economies. Needless to say, tourism is a ‘straw that stirs the drink’ for so many of our local businesses and residents!
We’d also like to thank our Wisconsin Department of Tourism for their wonderful partnership and efforts in helping to promote our ‘Heart of the North’ counties of Barron, Rusk, Sawyer and Washburn. In addition to Secretary Sayers and the talented staff in the Madison office, we greatly value the work of our Regional Tourism Specialist Julie Fox based in Siren.
With fishing as just one example of the many outdoor pursuits that ‘hooks’ tourists, we are sure everyone ‘catches’ the fact that Northwest Wisconsin plays a significant role in bringing tourism revenue to our state! With tourism as a vitally important and ‘reel’ issue for our Heart of the North Group, we sincerely ask that you keep that in mind when ‘casting’ bills that will affect the Northwoods.
Thank you again and we look forward to a meaningful and memorable discussion!
